On May 9, LIPOR had the honor of receiving a delegation from ORIZON, a Brazilian company that is a pioneer in the waste recovery process. Committed to the sustainable development of society and the economy, ORIZON manages 15 Eco-parks in Brazil, with the aim of promoting environmentally responsible waste management.
The visit began with a warm welcome session, where representatives from LIPOR and ORIZON exchanged greetings and discussed the common objectives of both organizations in relation to waste management and sustainability. This was followed by an institutional presentation by LIPOR, highlighting its initiatives, technologies and innovative projects aimed at efficient waste management and the promotion of the circular economy.
For the rest of the day, the ORIZON delegation had the opportunity to get to know LIPOR's facilities up close, including guided tours of the various units:
Visit to Formiga Drop-off site: an area open to the public, where recyclable waste that cannot be placed in recycling bins can be left.
Visit to CREW: A unit dedicated to the recovery and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), contributing to the circular economy and reducing the environmental impact of these materials.
Visit to the CT - Sorting Plant: Where sorting and separation processes are carried out on recyclable waste, preparing it to be sent for recycling.
Visit to the CVO - Organic Recovery Circuit: A facility where organic waste is processed and transformed into high-quality organic compost, used in agriculture and gardening.
Technical visit to the CVE – Waste to Energy Plant: A plant where non-recyclable waste is transformed into electricity, helping to diversify the energy matrix and reduce the use of fossil fuels.
The technical visit allowed the ORIZON delegation to get a closer look at the best waste management practices implemented by LIPOR over 42 years of experience, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences that can contribute to the advancement of sustainability policies in Brazil.
At the end of the day, both parties expressed their satisfaction with the visit and expressed their desire to continue collaborating in the future for a cleaner and more sustainable environment for future generations.
