In 2019 the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) will take place from 16 to 24 November.

This year, the central theme of the Week is Change Your Ways, Reduce your waste! The thematic focus for 2019 is education and communication to reduce waste production.

Having access to reliable information on the impact of waste consumption and production on the environment is an essential precursor to changing the behavior and daily habits related to these issues. For EWWR 2019, we challenged participants to educate themselves and others about waste and turn that knowledge into practice by changing their daily consumption habits to reduce waste.

Complicated? No way! LIPOR will organize a Training Program to help you prepare and submit ideas.

The European Waste Prevention Week Development Training Program is an initiative within the European Waste Prevention Week and was based on the need to promote good practices among partners.

The main goals of the Training Program will be:

  • Promote the dissemination of the European Week for Waste Reduction;
  • Train the proponents of actions;
  • European Week: how to spread the word;
  • Actions of the Week: How to Submit; how to dynamize; suggestion/sharing of initiatives implemented by different entities.

The 2019 EWWR Training Program is intended for anyone wishing to participate in the European Week for Waste Reduction by promoting one or more prevention actions.

This year the initiative will be hosted by the municipality of Valongo and will take place on September 24, at the Ermesinde Cultural Forum.
