LIPOR neutralizes 2018 Greenhouse Gas emissions from its fleet
Every year, LIPOR renews its commitment to neutralize Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) generated by its own fleet through Zero Carbon® Certification.
Emissions accounting uses, as a reference, the general methodology of The Greenhouse Gas Protocol, prepared by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and the World Resources Institute. Carbon Zero® brand calculations account for emissions of three of the six Greenhouse Gases covered by the Kyoto Protocol: carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O).
As a result, LIPOR's own fleet emissions neutralized correspond to a total of 231.3 tCO2e, distributed as follows:
- 216.2 tCO2e related to own fleet emissions with diesel and gasoline consumption;
- 15.1 tCO2e related to own fleet emissions with natural gas consumption.
The offsetting of 231.3 carbon credits (measured in tCO2e) will be translated into credits from a national forest area.
