Shanghai Chengtou Environment group visited LIPOR

On September 10, LIPOR - Municipalities Association for Sustainable Waste Management of Greater Porto received a visit from the Chinese company Shanghai Chengtou Environment Group Co.

The visit, whose main objective was to get to know LIPOR's facilities and management model, was attended by the Chinese company's most senior executives.

After a meeting to present the LIPOR model, they visited the Formiga Ecocentro, where they learned about this infrastructure for disposing of household and commercial waste, and then visited the Sorting Plant and the Automatic Packaging Sorting Plant. At the end, they visited the Organic Recovery Plant, where they learned about the composting process and the production of the 100% natural organic agricultural fertilizer "Nutrimais”.

Shanghai Environment Group Company Limited, a state-owned company, has extensive experience in building and operating waste management infrastructure, as well as providing waste treatment and recovery services. It currently has 12 solid waste projects in various metropolitan areas in China, such as Shanghai, Nanjing, Chengdu, Qingdao, Weihai and Ningbo. 

This visit is a sign of LIPOR's international recognition.
