Casa do Corim counts 2439 visitors in the first half of 2024 alone

Casa do Corim revitalization, which is being promoted by LIPOR as part of an Institutional partnership with Maia City Hall, has been a success since it opened its doors in October 2022. In the 1st half of 2024, and in 71 days of open doors, the space was visited by 2439 visitors.

There were 64 activities carried out, 16 partnerships signed, 35 space assignments and 22 guided tours to the six exhibitions promoted in the space. In addition to five Open Days held once a month, on Saturdays.

Among the six exhibitions promoted this semester, have been "Trilobites at Casa do Corim, a trail of history”, with pieces from Valongo City Hall collection; the exhibition "50 years of April 25, 1974”, in collaboration with Ermesinde Secondary School and "Casa do Corim Breviaries, an open window to the Natural History Museum of the University of Porto”, in partnership with this institution.

Two other exhibitions on display during the first semester return in September, after the brief recess in the House's programming that will take place in August. They are, "Valongo Biodiversity in Corim gardens”, in partnership with the Valongo City Hall and "Grandma's Crochet in Casa do Corim balconies”, which has beautified the house balconies with crochet quilts made by users of 11 IPSS of the eight Associated Municipalities in a collaborative project.

In the second half of 2024, the program will be intensified with the launch of two new guided tour circuits around the House and its gardens, as well as new exhibitions and Open Days with workshops, chats, markets, environmental cinema and exchange markets.

By taking on the dynamism of Casa do Corim, LIPOR and its Associated Municipalities assumed the purpose of leaving a solid legacy for future generations, with the promotion of practices in accordance with the precepts of Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility, placing this space for the enjoyment of Community, promoting Sustainability, Environmental Protection, entrepreneurship, citizen training and free access to culture.
