LIPOR celebrates its B Side with the Biodiversity Month

During the month of May, LIPOR and its Associated Municipalities celebrate Biodiversity with activities that aim to raise awareness among citizens about the issue of preserving and promoting natural resources. The initiative is part of LIPOR's strategic positioning, which presents Biodiversity as its B Side, since recycling and waste prevention from a circular economy perspective configures its mission and business.

Biodiversity Month initiatives will be promoted in LIPOR areas, namely Parque Aventura & Trilho Ecológico and Casa do Corim. Communication initiatives will also be carried out on the institution's digital channels.

Discover the program:

  • Biodiversity Walk: a trail group activity that will start at LIPOR Adventure Park & Ecological Trail and go to Casa do Corim and back, two biodiverse spaces that LIPOR promotes. The route starts at 2 pm, at Parque Aventura and will return around 5 pm from Casa do Corim. The activity is free, but registration is mandatory.
  • Exhibition "The Biodiversity of Valongo in the gardens of Corim”: an exhibition about Biodiversity that will enrich the gardens of Casa do Corim from May 18th to July 13th. The exhibition will open on Saturday, May 18, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The daily hours will be from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
  • Plantemania: during the next Open Day at Casa do Corim, there will be an exchange of plant seedlings pots. The dynamic of the activity consists of participants taking a plant seedling and adopting another as a way of encouraging a healthy sharing of Biodiversity. The activity will take place from 2pm to 6pm on May 18, is free and does not require registration.
  • BioBlitz: on May 25, LIPOR will promote another BioBlitz at Parque Aventura e Trilho Ecológico with a series of workshops.
