Last July, in the
scope of LIPOR | Biodiversity 2013-2020
strategy, was made a collection in the field of information relating to
vegetation and biotopes present in LIPOR Adventure Park.
This collection was supported by the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which allowed the collection of high
spatial resolution aerial photography, as well as the production of surface
digital models with high precision. This initiative
was attended by Professor Renato Henriques and his Minho University team.
Combining the innovative technologies with ecological and biological
knowledge, in a trend of R&D, LIPOR
is achieving the purpose of developing a biodiversity strategy in a business
context, assuming itself as an example of integrating biodiversity and
ecosystem services in its corporate practice.
The project is being developed in collaboration
with the Biodiversity and Genetic Resources Research Centre, Porto University -
CIBIO-UP, under technical and scientific direction of Professor João Honrado,
CIBIO-UP Senior Researcher.
