LIPOR participates in an European project, led by University of Minho, to promote the recovery of organic waste. This was one of the projects approved in the Interreg V-A Spain-Portugal Program, which is financed by European Union and that counts with the participation of partners from Galicia.

What is the main goal?

Promote composting as an instrument for the management of organic waste to reduce the amount of waste deposited in the landfill and to recover the compost produced in applications with high added value.

Fernanda Proença, a researcher at the Center for Chemistry of University of Minho responsible for the project, explains that: "This new bet opens doors for the emergence of new areas of business and employment related to the design of high added value products and contributing to the development of the green economy in this area of cooperation".
