SUSTENTÁVEL2030 - Climate Action and Sustainability Programme 2021-2027

The Climate Action and Sustainability Programme, financed by the Cohesion Fund, is a key instrument for Portugal to address the challenges of the energy and climate transition and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

The program's interventions focus on the energy transition (mainly via decarbonisation) and actions that promote resource sustainability and urban mobility, as well as investments in the field of transportation, namely the railway and the maritime-port sector, contributing to the following objectives:
  • Portugal + Green;
  • Portugal + Connected.

The Specific Objectives are as follows:
  • SO 2.3 - Develop smart energy systems, grids and storage outside the ENT-E;
  • SO 2.4 - Promote climate change adaptation, disaster risk prevention and resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches;
  • SO 2.6 - Promote the transition to a circular and resource-efficient economy;
  • SO 2.8 - Promote sustainable multimodal urban mobility as part of the transition to a net zero carbon economy;
  • SO 3.1 - Develop a climate-resilient, interconnected, safe, sustainable and intermodal ENT-T.
