Matosinhos Red Cross receives technical support from LIPOR to optimize recyclable waste management

LIPOR, in partnership with the Matosinhos Municipality, implemented a set of improvement actions aimed at optimizing the management of recyclable waste, in the headquarters building of the Matosinhos Red Cross.

After the diagnosis carried out by LIPOR's specialized team, 17 recycling equipment were installed and eight baskets of mixed waste were removed. Furthermore, it was also possible to transform two common waste baskets and reconvert them for food and packaging flows, in this case plastic and metal packaging.

LIPOR's intervention at this institution also included awareness-raising initiatives amongst the 10 employees who work at the Matosinhos Red Cross headquarters and the installation of final disposal equipment to accommodate recyclable waste.

This is a common effort by everyone involved and which, we are confident, will result in an increase in the quantities of recyclable materials collected at the Matosinhos Red Cross.
