Press Conference to present the BioBlitz program invites you to discover the Nature of Serralves Park with LIPOR

The Press Conference to present the 10th Edition of BioBlitz, a joint organization of the Serralves Foundation, LIPOR and its associated Municipalities, took place on April 9th.

The Press Conference was attended by Dr. Ana Pinho, President of the Board of Directors of the Serralves Foundation, the Director of the Serralves Park, Dr. Helena Freitas, the Director of Resources and Special Projects of Serralves, Dr. Rui Costa, Eng. Filipe Araújo, Vice-President of Porto Municipality and Administrator of LIPOR, and LIPOR administrators Dr. Marta Peneda, from the Municipality of Maia and Dr. Luís Canelas from the Municipality of Espinho among many other guests.

As in previous editions, this year there will be initiatives aimed at the educational community, which will take place from April 15 through 19 and on the weekend, 20 and 21, activities dedicated to the general public and families.

This will be an edition full of new features and is expected to reach the numbers of the previous edition, which brought more than 56,000 people to Serralves, the highest number ever, the result of the involvement of LIPOR's associated municipalities and the various founding municipalities of Serralves and the response from schools and families and children who flocked to Serralves Park during the week.

The BioBlitz is a reference pedagogical and scientific event in the field of education and awareness of Biodiversity, which showcases the fauna and flora of Serralves Park, through the exploration of scientific and artistic methodologies and with a contemporary narrative that integrates the Sustainability Agenda, based on the aims of the Sustainable Development Goal of the 2030 Agenda, "Protect Life on Earth" and the United Nations Conference on Biodiversity COP16.

Throughout the days, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in various exhibitions, scientific and pedagogical workshops, thematic visits, field trips with researchers and experts, independent activities and many shows that will fill the different areas of the Serralves park.
