Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila do Conde implements sustainable practices with technical support from LIPOR

Within the scope of the Coração Verde Certification, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila do Conde, in partnership with the Municipality of Vila de Conde and LIPOR, has developed several projects to promote a more sustainable economy in the various facilities of the institution.

Increasingly attentive to issues of sustainability and environmental preservation, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila do Conde promoted, on March 21, 2024, at Casa da Criança, an awareness-raising action for all employees where, in addition to concepts fundamentals about the environment and sustainability, were presented some of the ongoing initiatives:

Implementation of projects in the area of renewable energy, leveraging its own sustainability and bringing an environmental footprint;
Cultivation of vegetables, fruit and aromatic herbs at Quinta Galante, taking "sure steps" on the path towards Forestry Certification;
Implementation of the Dose Certa program, with the aim of reducing food waste.

This initiative stimulates greater awareness through all these themes, enabling an increase, over time, in greater awareness of the need to change to an increasingly circular and sustainable economy.
