PORTO BEER FEST is a candidate for LIPOR's Green Heart Certification

This year's edition of PORTO BEER FEST - taking place from the 12th to the 16th of June in the gardens of the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis, in Porto - is a candidate for LIPOR's Green Heart Certification.

This recognition aims to distinguish good environmental practices with a positive impact on the surrounding environment, based on multiple criteria that evaluate the waste management measures implemented at the event, with a view to continuous improvement and increasing sustainability of this type of initiatives. Events, regardless of their type and target audience, are moments of complex management and in which there is a great diversity of actors and partners, thus constituting a permanent challenge for all involved.

LIPOR and PORTO AMBIENTE, in partnership with the event organizers, ensured the technical and operational conditions necessary for good waste management, as well as raising awareness and monitoring the entire process.

Once the event has concluded, it is time to evaluate the results, measure the impact and identify opportunities for improvement. If the application is successful, PORTO BEER FEST 2024 will become the first medium-sized event to be awarded LIPOR's Green Heart Certification.
