LIPOR in the debate on solutions for Latin America
At the invitation of CAF - Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, LIPOR was part of the program of an important working mission of a delegation from 8 Latin American countries, which took place from October 13 to 16.
In addition to the visit to LIPOR's Energy Recovery Plant on October 21, he took part in the event "Renaturalization and Urban Revitalization” on October 23 at the Casa da América Latina in Lisbon, where the themes of Circular Economy and Sustainability were at the heart of the debate, showing a path towards finding the best solutions to the challenges facing these geographies.
The goal of uniting Portugal and Latin America in reflection, debate, and the search for solutions for cities was truly achieved with the sharing of good practices and benchmarking initiatives, demonstrating practical examples of success that can be an inspiration for Latin America.
LIPOR took part in session 3 of the seminar "Waste in transformation: Towards a circular future in Ibero-America”, where the debate provided an opportunity to learn more about different realities and the challenges that different geographies face depending on their level of development. The result was the need to design integrated, holistic solutions adapted to the reality, size, and culture of each destination.
The aim of this day was to learn about innovative projects that could be replicated in Latin America and Europe, to inspire, create synergies and ultimately strengthen knowledge networks that will improve the quality of life of citizens in both countries.
