CAF delegation visits LIPOR
On October 14, a delegation from CAF - Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, visited LIPOR's facilities in Maia, as part of its participation in the CAF Conference "Sharing Best Practices for Urban Transformation”, which is taking place in Portugal.
The visit began with an institutional presentation of the LIPOR model, a benchmark in waste management and energy recovery in Portugal. The delegation members had the opportunity to learn about the strategies implemented by LIPOR to promote sustainability and innovation in waste treatment and recovery.
LIPOR's Energy Recovery Plant was the highlight of the visit, where the visitors were able to take a closer look at the process of converting waste into energy. The CAF representatives showed great interest in the technologies used, as well as in the management practices that allow energy efficiency to be maximized and environmental impact to be reduced.
LIPOR, which stands out for its innovative and sustainable approach, has been an example to follow in implementing waste management policies and promoting the circular economy. The exchange of experiences between the two regions could result in significant advances in urban transformation and sustainable development.
The collaboration between LIPOR and CAF could open the door to future joint projects aimed at sustainability and innovation in waste management.
