This year, the central theme was Sustainability, with a program full of lectures, debates, and hands-on activities.
LIPOR, in partnership with the Serra do Gerês Baldios Association, the Campo do Gerês Landowners' Association, the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro/CITAB, AMO Portugal, and the Portuguese Ecological Society, co-organized this event, which featured several renowned speakers. Highlights from the program included panels on:
- Challenges in property management in national parks
- Sustainable activities: critical limits and opportunities
- Technological innovation and monitoring of oak forests
- The role of forests in practical climate heritage application
- Best practices in the "Bioduca" project
Participants had the opportunity to sample local products, attend lectures in natural amphitheaters, and take part in practical activities, such as forest bathing and an archaeological replenishment session using animal traction. This direct interaction with nature provided an immersive and educational experience, reinforcing the importance of conservation and restoration of oak forests for environmental sustainability.
