The implementation of an Energy Management System at LIPOR has the following objectives:

Promotion of energy efficiency in the Organization;
Reduction of environmental impacts;
Impulse for the use of alternative and renewable energies;
Compliance with legal requirements;
Cost reduction;
Mitigation of the Organization's impact on Climate Change, namely reducing the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) into the atmosphere.

This Management System is currently implemented in:

Reception of urban waste for recovery, sorting of materials from selective collection;
Training, communication and environmental awareness services;
Concession, production and marketing of sustainable products resulting from waste management operations, excluding the facilities of the Sorting Plant, Organic Recovery Plant, Photovoltaic Plant and Biogas Station.

LIPOR's Energy Management System was certified according to the ISO 50001 normative reference in 2018.
