LIPOR on technical mission to Cape Verde
As part of the CITRES Project - Integrated Solid Waste Collection and Treatment Center on Maio Island in Cape Verde, a technical mission to Maio Island will take place in November.
The main objective of this mission is to carry out a characterization campaign on the municipal waste generated on the island, allowing Lipor to obtain up-to-date data on the main municipal waste streams produced by the inhabitants of the island of Maio. With this recent data, it will be possible to adjust the technical solutions developed by Lipor to better suit the local reality.
Through the CITRES Project - Integrated Centre for the Collection and Treatment of Solid Waste on Maio Island in Cape Verde, the aim is for the Municipality of Maio to be able to guarantee effective and sustainable management of the urban waste produced on Maio Island, through the creation of a system for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste and raising public awareness of environmental issues.
The CITRES Project - Integrated Solid Waste Collection and Treatment Center on Maio Island is co-financed by the EU and Portuguese Cooperation through Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P., which will also ensure the project's implementation through delegated cooperation.
