European Week for Waste Reduction 2024 – Over 200 Actions Underway in LIPOR’s Associated Municipalities

Last Friday, November 16, marked the start of the 2024 edition of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), which will take place through November 24, under the theme "Food Waste Has No Taste."

We all embrace the environmental cause, and as a result, in the areas served by LIPOR (Espinho, Gondomar, Maia, Matosinhos, Porto, Póvoa de Varzim, Valongo, and Vila do Conde) 213 actions have been registered and will take place throughout the week, targeting a variety of audiences.

Only together and with a unified voice we can end waste and start looking at waste prevention as an essential cause. Many organizations are involved in this mission, including LIPOR and its associated municipalities, NGOs, Social Sector entities, companies such as ANA Aeroportos, Mar Shopping, local Parishes, first-grade schools, professional schools and universities, and individual citizens, among many others.

November 16 officially marked the start of the 2024 European Week for Waste Reduction, with many activities and initiatives scheduled!
